PRESS RELEASE
MARK UDALL WINS COLORADO SENATE RACE
Key Target Race for the Environmental Community
Fort Collins, CO - Colorado voters today sent Mark Udall to the U.S. Senate by a decisive margin in a race that saw the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund conduct extensive persuasion and GOTV canvass activities in critical northern counties. Below is the statement of Rodger Schlickeisen, the President of Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund:
"Mark Udall has been a leading voice on conservation issues in the House of Representatives, and Colorado families can trust that he will work tirelessly in the Senate to continue to protect our wildlife and wild places. They can be confident that he will lead the drive towards a modern energy policy that will end our dependence on foreign oil while conserving our natural resources and habitat for future generations.
The Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund is proud to have made a difference in northern Colorado for Mark Udall through an integrated field and mail campaign. We deployed 48 campaign staff and canvassed more than 37,000 doors to persuade independent voters to support Udall. We congratulate Mark on this tremendous victory."
